ธนาคารกรุงเทพ รุกพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีการเงินแห่งอนาคต จับมือกับกลุ่มพันธมิตร R3 ในฐานะองค์กรแห่งแรกของไทย
ธนาคารกรุงเทพ ในฐานะองค์กรและธนาคารแห่งแรกของไทยจับมือเข้าร่วมกับกลุ่ม R3 ที่เกิดจากการรวมตัวของพันธมิตรผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้าน FinTech ที่มีสถาบันการเงินชั้นนำของโลกกว่า 55 แห่งเป็นสมาชิก ในการร่วมมือกันพัฒนานวัตกรรมและเทคโนโลยีสำหรับการให้บริการทางการเงินรูปแบบใหม่ๆ หรือที่เรียกว่า Distributed Ledger เพื่อรองรับอุตสาหกรรมการให้บริการทางการเงินในอนาคต
นายชาติศิริ โสภณพนิช กรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ ธนาคารกรุงเทพ จำกัด (มหาชน) เปิดเผยว่า ธนาคารมีความยินดีที่ได้เข้าเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของความร่วมมือกับกลุ่มพันธมิตร R3 ที่มีวิสัยทัศน์อันกว้างไกลในการเรียนรู้ และแบ่งปันประสบการณ์ เพื่อพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีสำหรับอุตสาหกรรมการเงินในอนาคต
สำหรับ กลุ่มพันธมิตร R3 (R3 Consortium) เกิดขึ้นจากการรวมกลุ่มของผู้เชี่ยวชาญในด้าน FinTech จำนวนมาก ทั้งผู้เชี่ยวชาญในกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมการเงิน ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านเทคโนโลยี และผู้ประกอบการเทคโนโลยีรุ่นใหม่ โดยมีสถาบันการเงินชั้นนำของโลกกว่า 55 แห่งเป็นสมาชิก และธนาคารกรุงเทพถือเป็นองค์กรและธนาคารแห่งแรกของประเทศไทยที่เล็งเห็นในวิสัยทัศน์และเข้าร่วมเป็นสมาชิกในกลุ่มดังกล่าว โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์หลักเพื่อความร่วมมือในการพัฒนานวัตกรรม แอปพลิเคชั่น และเทคโนโลยีทางการเงินใหม่ๆ สำหรับรองรับอุตสาหกรรมการให้บริการทางการเงินในอนาคต
นายเดวิท รัทเทอร์ ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร ของกลุ่มพันธมิตร R3 กล่าวเสริมว่า การเข้าร่วมเป็นสมาชิกในกลุ่มพันธมิตร R3 ของธนาคารกรุงเทพ ซึ่งเป็นองค์กรและธนาคารชั้นนำของประเทศไทย นับว่าเป็นอีกหนึ่งก้าวย่างที่สำคัญ ด้วยภูมิภาคเอเชียถือเป็นตลาดหลักที่ทางกลุ่มพันธมิตร R3 ต้องการขยายเครือข่ายของพันธมิตร ในการร่วมกันพัฒนาเทคโนโลยี และแอปพลิเคชั่นการเงินระดับโลกให้ก้าวหน้ายิ่งขึ้น
Bangkok Bank first Thai company to join R3 distributed ledger consortium
Bangkok Bank, a leading Thailand commercial bank, has joined a consortium led by financial innovation firm R3 that designs and develops a distributed ledger for the global financial services industry.
Bangkok Bank is the first Thai company to join the consortium, whose membership comprises over 55 of the world’s largest financial institutions. Through collaboration between members the consortium is developing innovative and groundbreaking commercial applications.
Chartsiri Sophonpanich, President of Bangkok Bank, said that the bank is pleased to join such a visionary group and is keen to learn, share and participate in the group.
David Rutter, CEO of R3, comments: “The addition of Bangkok Bank – one of Thailand’s major banking players – is a further milestone for R3.
