ไทยคม ผู้ให้บริการดาวเทียมไทย เดินหน้า ดาวเทียมช่วยชีวิต (Satellite Saves Life)

       ดาวเทียมเพื่อทัพเรือไทย : บมจ.ไทยคม ผู้ให้บริการดาวเทียมไทย เดินหน้าต่อยอดโครงการ “ดาวเทียมช่วยชีวิต (Satellite Saves Life)” ตามแนวทางความรับผิดชอบต่อสังคมของไทยคมในการเปิดโอกาสเข้าถึงการสื่อสาร โครงการดังกล่าวมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสร้างสุขภาพและเสริมคุณภาพชีวิต ซึ่งนอกจากจะส่งต่อความช่วยเหลือในภาวะวิกฤตแล้ว ยังใช้การสื่อสารผ่านดาวเทียมช่วยเตรียมความพร้อมรับมือภัยพิบัติ ให้ข้อมูลข่าวสารแก่ผู้ประสบภัยและฟื้นฟูสุขภาพจิตและกำลังใจของผู้ป่วยและผู้เข้ารับการรักษาด้วย ในภารกิจสนับสนุนหน่วยงานทางการแพทย์และพยาบาลของกองทัพเรือครั้งนี้ บมจ.ไทยคม โดย นางสาวฐิติภา ลักษณพิสุทธิ์ ผู้อำนวยการสำนักสื่อสารองค์กร ได้ส่งมอบอุปกรณ์รับสัญญาณดาวเทียม เพื่อถ่ายทอดข่าวสาร ข้อมูลสุขภาพ ความรู้ด้านการบรรเทาทุกข์และป้องกันภัยพิบัติ ตลอดจนรายการบันเทิง ไปยังผู้ป่วยและบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ โดยมี นาวาโทนายแพทย์อนุชา ลิขิตวงษ์ ผู้บังคับกองพันพยาบาล กรมสนับสนุน หน่วยบัญชาการต่อสู้อากาศยานและรักษาฝั่ง กองทัพเรือ เป็นผู้รับมอบ เมื่อวันที่ 2 กันยายน 2557 ณ ฐานทัพเรือสัตหีบ

       ตลอดระยะเวลาทีผ่านมา บมจ.ไทยคม ได้นำศักยภาพในการดำเนินธุรกิจ ซึ่งครอบคลุมทั้งอุปกรณ์ เทคโนโลยี ช่องสัญญาณดาวเทียมคุณภาพสูง รวมถึงบุคลากรผู้เชี่ยวชาญ สร้างประโยชน์ร่วมกับผู้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยมุ่งสู่เป้าหมายการเติบโตอย่างแข็งแกร่งและยั่งยืน (Sustainable Development) นอกจากการดำเนินธุรกิจอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพและโปร่งใสภายใต้หลักธรรมาภิบาลแล้ว ไทยคมมีภารกิจรับผิดชอบต่อสังคมใน 3 ส่วนหลัก ได้แก่ 1.การสร้างโอกาสเข้าถึงการสื่อสาร ด้วยการส่งมอบและสอนติดตั้งอุปกรณ์รับสัญญาณดาวเทียม (Communication Accessibility) 2.การสนับสนุนการศึกษาเพื่อพัฒนาเด็กและเยาวชน โดยเฉพาะการศึกษาทางไกลผ่านดาวเทียม (Education Support) 3.การยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตและให้ความช่วยเหลือกรณีภัยพิบัติ ด้วยโครงข่ายและเทคโนโลยีการสื่อสารคุณภาพ (Community Development & Disaster Relief)

      ทั้งนี้ ไทยคมได้สร้างคุณค่าร่วมกับผู้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องทุกฝ่ายผ่านโครงการต่างๆ อย่างต่อเนื่อง อาทิ การให้ความรู้เพื่อเตรียมรับมือและให้ความช่วยเหลือในกรณีภัยพิบัติ'ดาวเทียมช่วยชีวิต (Satellite Saves Life)'โดยร่วมมือกับสภากาชาดไทย กองทัพอากาศ กองทัพเรือ กองทัพบก, การให้บริการสื่อสารผ่านดาวเทียมแบบเคลื่อนที่'SATCOM on the Move'เพื่อให้ทหารเรือและกำลังพลติดต่อสื่อสารได้ขณะเดินทางไปปฏิบัติหน้าที่บนเรือหลวงกระบี่, การส่งมอบและสอนติดตั้งอุปกรณ์รับสัญญาณดาวเทียมเพื่อการศึกษาทางไกลผ่านดาวเทียม'ไทยคิด ไทยคม'โดยมีผู้ร่วมโครงการ ได้แก่ นักเรียนอาชีวศึกษา นักเรียนในโรงเรียนทุรกันดารและห่างไกล ผู้เข้าบำบัดและต้องโทษเกี่ยวกับคดียาเสพติดของโรงเรียนวิวัฒน์พลเมือง ในความดูแลของกองทัพเรือ ซึ่งจะได้นำความรู้ไปพัฒนาชุมชน ประกอบชีพสุจริต รวมถึงคืนคนดีสู่สังคม, การสร้างแรงบันดาลใจควบคู่กับการส่งเสริมประสบการณ์ด้านวิทยาศาสตร์และอวกาศ เช่น การสนับสนุน “นิทรรศการอวกาศระดับโลก NASA – A Human Adventure” เป็นต้น

      Satellite Saves Life for Thai Navy: Thaicom PLC, Thailand’s satellite leader, has continued the “Satellite Saves Life" Project which align with its social responsibility direction in providing the opportunity and accessibility to the satellite-based communication network and utilization. This project aims to improve health promotion programs and increase the quality of life via the accessibility to the fundamental medical knowledge and help. In addition to providing  communication network and connectivity for a help, relief and recovery during disasters and crisis, Thaicom has also intended to support medical personnel and institutes to provide a physical rehabilitation, mental recovery of the patients as well as the morale and relaxation of the medical officers.

      To support the medical battalion of the Royal Thai Navy, Thaicom PLC, led by Ms. Thitipa Laxanaphisuth, Assistant Vice President for Corporate Communications, and Thaicom Volunteers have provided the satellite dishes and television sets for the accessibility to the broadcast news, health information, knowledge of disaster relief and preparedness, including entertainment programs for the patients and medical staff within the commanding areas of Sattahip Naval Base from the Eastern - Southern coasts. At the hand-over ceremony, Commander Dr. Anucha Likitvong RTN, represented the Medical Battalion Combat Logistics and Support Regiment Air and Coastal Defense Command on September 2, 2014 at Sattahip Naval Base.

     Through time, Thaicom PLC has operated the satellite business solutions and innovative technology based on its core competency in satellite network, technology as well as professionals in order to serve its customers while continuously created shared values among the key stakeholders to ensure a strong growth and sustainable development.  Apart from a profitable operation, transparency and corporate governance, Thaicom has initiated and conducted corporate social responsibility missions in three folds including 1."Communication Accessibility" by donating satellite dishes and TV sets, together with sharing the knowledge in satellite dish installation, 2. "Education Support" by providing educational opportunity to the children and youth especially in remote areas, 3.

      "Community Development & Disaster Relief" in which to ensure a better quality of life as well as a fine relief and recovery resulting from disasters. Thaicom has created shared values among all stakeholders through the CSR activities such as the "Satellite Saves Life" project that educate and share the knowledge about the preparedness and rescue measurements in crisis with cooperation with the Thai Red Cross Society, Royal Thai Air Force, Royal Thai Navy and Royal Thai Army; "SATCOM on the Move" Solution provided to the Royal Thai Navy Cruisers on H.T.M.S. Krabi allowing soldiers to access to the communication mobility; the support of satellite dishes, set-top boxes and knowledge sharing for the installation and long distance learning through

        “Thai Kids Thaicom" Project in corporation with vocational students, schools in rural area, convicted drug-addicts and prisoners of the Wiwat Pollamuang School under the patronage of the Royal Thai Navy--this cooperation will help extending the  knowledge to the community, allowing them to have a good vocation and opportunities to return to the society as a good citizen; the creation of scientific inspiration and extraordinary space experience through world-class, space exhibitions namely the NASA - A HUMAN ADVENTURE which is the first time in SEA.
